We are highly respected within the bridal industry and are flexible to the needs of our clients and we have never been faced with a problem or challenge we couldn’t fix. Girl Friday Weddings is a professional full time business and not an operation that simply runs on the side, as a hobby or after a course we took over the weekend. Planning a wedding can be a confronting and stressful experience. It can be a case of juggling a lot of different priorities, not only in your personal life but meeting requests from family especially can be challenging. A wedding planner is not only a great objective reference point for you to help bring your plans and ideas to life, but because we have done it before – we can hit the ground running with what you need and deliver every efficiency in getting our job done. This essentially saves you time, money, and gives you a great sense of feeling in control in the lead up to the wedding day. A wedding coordinators job entails duties on the wedding day only where the couple has take on the responsibility of all the planning in the lead up and just hands over a brief of the day to the coordinator. A wedding planner however is someone who has taken some/all of the planning responsibility off the couple in the lead up to the day and who may or may not be responsible for the successful execution of the event on the day itself as well. We don’t have a generic list of suppliers that we hand out. It’s taken a long time to establish many of our vendor relationships and it’s priceless IP that distinguishes our service from the rest. If we need to refer a vendor to any of our clients, we first get a sense of the job brief, and budget and we match the vendors best suited to the needs of the client. Yes we are able to offer planning services to couples wanting to get married overseas, or for couples wanting to travel to Australia. We are also able to travel interstate to any location. A wedding planner is someone you hire and is your advocate and represents your best interests. Your wedding planner at the venue represents the venue (and the venue’s best interest) and not you. They also have minimum involvement with planning the event and if anything are primarily involved in the food and beverage components and checking delivery and bump in and out movements of all vendors. They have very limited outside the scope of this, especially that which concerns any other vendor which is involved in your event prior to the commencement time of the reception. This includes hair and make up artists, photographers, videographers and those involved at the ceremony if it’s not in the same location as the reception. [TOP]
Will the person I meet with at my initial consultation be the same wedding planner I work with on the day?
Not necessarily. Any consultations prior to booking are to understand what sort of service you need from us. We then allocate the best and appropriate event manager for your wedding. There will be an opportunity to say hello with your event manager in the lead up to the day. All of our packages including half day and above include a wedding planning consultation with the event planner who will be attending your wedding day. [TOP]
Yes, we accept Visa, Mastercard and Paypal. Payments on our most of our plans include two equal installments, one upon booking and the other two weeks prior. However we can be very flexible to suit your needs, please let us know at time of booking. [TOP]

We accommodate all types of weddings including elopements, destination weddings, LGBT weddings/ceremonies, vowel renewals, recovery brunches and engagement parties. [TOP]
If you would prefer a quick meet and greet to say hello in person and talk through about how we can help you, our initial consultation is free. However if you prefer to discuss specific elements of your event, we can meet you for a consultation and these are charged at an hourly rate. Do you charge an hourly rate, a flat rate or a percentage of my overall wedding budget? What is the retainer to secure your services?
You can choose to pay either an hourly rate (if you just need a few consultations to overcome a planning hurdle) or select from one of our packages. You can also download a brochure with all of our services. If you can’t find what you need, or for end to end planning rates – please talk to us for a custom proposal. To book us in for the day we usually require a 50% deposit and the balance is due two weeks prior. We also accept Visa and Mastercard. [TOP]
The largest event we have coordinated was actually a corporate event for 800 guests for the decommissioning of HMAS Sydney at The Big Top Luna Park. Our medium sized events are usually around 400 – 500 guests and our smaller events are around 150 (excluding elopements and smaller wedding dinners!) [TOP]
We can assist with any event, ask for our help with anniversaries, baby showers, birthdays, corporate events, engagement parties, holiday parties, dinner parties, LGBT weddings, commitment ceremonies. We love to stay in touch with our alumni! [TOP]
Usually it is only one event per event manager, unless on the rare occasion we have a morning wedding. [TOP]
If we are at your event through the main course component of the evening, then a crew meal would be great appreciated. However if we depart before this time, then all we need is access to some water. Our shifts can be long and tiring and anything we can do to keep our energy level up is always helpful. [TOP]
We take a very collaborative approach to all our events, and we will be guided by you as to how little or much you’d like us to manage the event. [TOP]
Many couples hire us purely for the peace of mind it brings. Not having to burden or rely on family and friends is a magical and liberating feeling! You can engage us at any stage of the planning process. If you have already started planning your wedding and have hired your own vendors, we are happy to work with them. If you’d like a hand sourcing vendors we can assist with that as well. Or if you’d like to hire all your own suppliers and hire us just for on the day coordination, we have a range of plans to suit your needs. [TOP]

You may be able to save time and money booking your ceremony and reception decor through Girl Friday Weddings. If you have hired us for wedding coordination, we are often able to supply materials if they are easy enough to carry in our vehicle including seating charts, ceremony programs, place cards, flowers etc. Larger items, decor, and materials that need to be packed up at a time outside of our service hours may attract additional delivery fees.
